Thursday at Sea
Our Cabin A750
We are still in the middle of the Atlantic. We have now gone over 36 hours without steaming off someplace at flank speed. We did have a new friend slip on the steps of the Galleria and break her ankle in 3 places. She is in a temporary cast and will be moved from the ship in Gibraltar.
We are starting to see some sun today. Hooray! We have changed our clocks one hour ahead each of the last two nights and I am afraid we will have to do it again tonight. We are now 5 hours ahead of Kansas City. I think I like getting the time zone changes over with all at once. We seem to be continually tired.
The shows have been very good this trip. We have seen a comedian, who was very funny without being dirty, and a Scottish piano player, who is a Victor Borge, without the slap stick. He is also not politically correct.
We have not been bored on these sea days. We get up in the morning, have a leisurely breakfast, walk around the outside of the ship, then go to the spa and enjoy the facilities there. Around noon we grab lunch somewhere and make new friends while we are at the table. One lady was from North of the Arctic Circle. We check out the various lounges and attend the port lectures sometimes. Judi works the casino and I attend Rotary meetings. Then back to the cabin to read or play on the computer. Around 6:00 we go to dinner and then take in one of the shows. We have not tried MUTS yet, that is Movie Under The Stars, but still plan to do so soon. Then it is back to the cabin to set our clocks forward an hour and let the ship rock us to sleep. Our bed in perpendicular to the ship and so the rocking is head down, head up. Wish the bed faced the longitudinal axis of the ship.
It is nice to have someone fix you breakfast, lunch and dinner, clean your room, make your bed and do your laundry. I think we could get use to this.
Room service just brought hot water for my tea, so I think I will close for now.
