The first picture is St. Georges, Bermuda. The second is the Pilot Boat heading for our ship. The third is the Pilot Boat departing with his Passenger.
It is Monday and the adventure continues. We slept in a little this morning and ordered in some hot water, for my tea, and some coffee for Judi. We sat on the deck and enjoyed morning sunshine. We then went to breakfast and met up with Judi hometown friend again and another couple. We had a nice breakfast and some more good conversation. Judi and I decided to do some walking around the ship to get some exercise and enjoy the nice weather. After the calk we met some friends for lunch. About 12:00, the normal time for the ships position report, the Captain came on the speaker and announced that we had a medical emergency on board and we would be diverting to Bermuda. We were too far from the states for a helicopter and Bermuda did not have one. We steamed south, with all six engines at full power, for 5 hours. The pilot boat came out to meet us. We were now just outside of St. George harbor, located on the south end of Bermuda. After some maneuvering, on the part of the pilot boat, the patient was off loaded. The last we saw of them they were headed toward St George.
We are now headed for Gibraltar at an increased rate of speed, to arrive there on time. That is if adventure number 3 does not slow us down. At least we can now say we have been to Bermuda. Maybe Capt. Nash was trying to add a port for us since we missed 4 on our last cruise with him.
We had dinner tonight and then we went to listen to a very good comedian and then a Scottish piano player. Both events were very good.
Now it is time for bed and we will await the next adventure. We lose another hour tonight. That makes us 4 hours earlier than Kansas City.
