For those of you that may want to do a blog, let me tell you my troubles. First; with all that was going wrong with the presentation of the blog, second; with retyping the D??? thing several times, and third with it just disappearing from the screen. With these issues I went down to the computer geek on board the Crown. He checked out the computer and the Crown’s WyFy and told me that there was nothing wrong with either. So back to the cabin I came. Sitting around trying to figure out what I was going to do, I remembered that I had had issues before when using Firefox for my browser. So I switched to Internet Explorer and I think I have solved my problem. We will see as the cruise continues. I hope so.
Today we went up to Sabatini’s restaurant for breakfast. We struck up a conversation with the couple sitting next to us and would you believe, in the middle of the Atlantic, Judi finds someone who grew up in Mankato, MN five blocks from where she lived. He was a few years behind her, but it was do you know who, do you remember this, hasn’t this changed for the rest of the time we were there. A very nice couple and I believe he was in education in some manner.
After breakfast we returned to the cabin cleaned up and got ready for our meeting with other members of our Cruise Critic group. We had around 60 people meet in the Skywalker lounge. Capt. Nash, the Cruise Director and the Hotel Director attended the meeting. I have been doing the roll call, that is where we list people who want to meet others on the cruise. We use it to set up tours, pass on good information and get to know other people on the cruise. I walked into the meeting, which was set up by another lady and she pulled me aside and said she did not want to run the meeting and would I run the meeting. Never being at a loss for words, I said yes and so I proceeded to do my usual thing, talk. The Capt and other crew members gave a short presentation and the mingled with the rest of us answering questions and just general conversation. We held a short business meeting and then just enjoyed ourselves getting to know each other.
We went to lunch and met some other nice people. Not all the people from California are fruits and nuts. We have met quite a few people from Canada on board the this cruise, one at our lunch is a nurse and lives north of the Artic Circle. Tonight was formal night and so we got all gussied up and went to dinner. The food was a little better than last night. After dinner we went to a musical performance of Cole Porter's music. It was very good and we enjoyed it very much. Then it was back to the cabin and hopefully a full night of uninterrupted sleep.
The weather has been great and the sea’s smooth.
