Saturday in the Atlantic

Today has been a lazy day. We slept late and ordered breakfast brought to our room. We wanted to eat out on the deck, but the weather was just a little too cool. We are really getting spoiled and we are trying to figure out which one of you will take over the duties when we get back home. Finally moving around, we went down to the Promenade deck and walked for an hour. Then it was back to the cabin to read and take a couple of naps. One would not do the trick.

We went to the onboard steak house, called the Crown Grill, and had a great meal. If the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce reads this I am probably in trouble as the filet that Judi and I had was as good as any we have ever had in KC. A bottle of Rosewood Shiraz did help. We ate and drank for 2 and ½ hours. Dinning on the ship can be an experience. We were with a couple from Sacramento, California that we met on line and then hooked up with on the ship. She is a retired banker and he is a retired engineer from the Apollo Space program. Needless to say we had interesting conversations this evening. A good time was had by all. After dinner we went to the theater to hear a young lady singer by the name of Jamilla. She really has a nice voice. She has appeared on Broadway and has done some albums. She did not try and sell any. She was preceded by two young ladies that had been with Cirque de Solle. (sp) The entertainment has been very good this cruise. A lot better than our crossing last fall.

We had to set our clocks ahead again last night. We are now 7 hours ahead of KC. We have to get up early in the morning to meet Judi’s new friend from Mankato, MN and his wife for breakfast. She is the one that fell and broke her ankle. They will be leaving the ship in Gibraltar and flying to London and then on to Los Angles before continuing to San Diego and her surgery. She will be in either First Class or Business Class so that she can have her leg elevated. They are a nice couple and it would have been fun to be with them the rest of the cruise.

The ocean is smoother tonight, so maybe I will not have to stand on my head from time to time.
